A quick plea for help!

Happy Thursday.  I hope that it’s nicer with you, wherever you may be, than it is at Les Terraces today.

No, going out on the terrace to take the picture was not an option. I’ve been out for several walks today, thank you very much!

OK, so a small plea for help.  Here’s what I need, please:

This year (as last, I must confess), I’ve promised myself that I’m going to take a trip once a month to see something different.  A village, a fete, a museum, a chateau, a garden, a walk, perhaps an artisan’s workshop…… pretty much anything, really.  The sole criteria is that it be no more than a 2-hour drive from Sainte-Foy-La-Grande (and that we’ve not already been there, natch).  I’d like your feedback …… is there somewhere that you’ve been that you think we’d enjoy? Or is there a place that you’ve heard of and you would like a first-hand report?  Perhaps there’s a festival (particularly a foodie one) that you think merits a blog post?  Is there an artist or artisan whose work inspires you?

I’ve challenged Graham to compile a list, but we’d always like to hear from our friends ……  We’ve not been to Sarlat.  We’ve driven past it often enough, but never stopped.  It has always been “on the way home” from Lascaux and Les Eyzies.  Friends have recommended Oradour sur Glane as a memorable visit and, having researched it online, it certainly sounds as if it is.  It’s a smidge beyond the arbitrary limit I’ve set but, perhaps, if we tie it in with a visit to another place, it might make the cut.

Answers not on a postcard, but in the comments box below, please.

Many thanks,

Alex
